Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before their first free icon.
- Can I really use these icons for free?
- Yes. Every set uses an open license (MIT, Apache, SIL OFL, CC0 or CC BY) — free for personal and commercial use. CC BY sets ask for a credit line.
- How often is the list updated?
- Every hour, from the Iconify open icon catalog.
- Can I download them?
- Click Get free to open the original page and download full quality; the license and credit line are shown there.
- Do you charge anything?
- Never. The site is free to use and funded by unobtrusive advertising.
- Can I get notified about new free icon sets?
- Yes. Add your email in the alerts box and you get one message per batch of new sets.
- Can an AI assistant use this data?
- Yes. The site runs an MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT and other agents can search current free icon sets.
